The History of Vaccination in Cambodia

Cambodia’s vaccination efforts began in earnest in the late 20th century, following decades of conflict and instability. The Khmer Rouge regime, which ruled from 1975 to 1979, decimated the country’s infrastructure, including its healthcare system. Post-1979, rebuilding the healthcare infrastructure, including vaccination programs, became a priority for successive governments.
