Organic Wild Rice By merrymantra
Zizania Aquatica, commonly known as Wild Rice, is a wetland grassseed grain that is increasingly preferred over traditional rice varieties. A 164-gram serving of cooked Organic Wild Rice is rich in vital nutrients such as Folate, Phosphorus, Zinc, and Manganese. This ancient grain, sometimes called Canadian rice, serves as a popular substitute for conventional white or brown rice. The plant grows to a length of 10 to 15 millimeters, and the seeds undergo curing and roasting processes that give them a striking black appearance. Wild Rice is particularly well-suited for summer recipes, including rice salads and tabbouleh-style dishes, and it pairs excellently with curries, adding both color and texture. Additionally, it can be combined with other rice or grain varieties to enhance texture and flavor.
